Contrary to popular thinking, it really does matter what you believe!
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. – Jesus (Matthew 7:24, 26)
Here is a brief synopsis of some of our core beliefs:
We believe the Bible is God’s Word and is, therefore, the singular standard and authority for our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe in God, the eternal Father and Creator everything. (Genesis 1:26)
We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, second person of the trinity and Savior of the world. (John 1:1-4)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, third person of the trinity, whose primary purpose is to glorify Christ. (John 16:14)
We believe that Satan is a literal being, the author of sin and sworn enemy of God and mankind. (John 8:44)
We believe in the Genesis account of creation - literally. (Genesis 1)
We believe that every person is born with a sin nature and, therefore, is separated from God, but that any and all can be saved through God’s grace by placing their faith in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16-18)
We believe that a church is a congregation of baptized (immersed) believers bound together by a spiritual brotherhood, a biblically rooted covenant of faith and a desire to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:41-47)
We believe that Jesus’ command to give the gospel to the world is the clear duty of every local church. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Because God demonstrated His love for us by sending Christ to die for us though we were sinners, we believe that we should love and accept everyone in the same way. While acceptance does not mean approval of all behavior, it does mean that all people should be afforded respect and dignity. (Romans 5:8)
